NLC 1301: Blog 11 12/13/12
Eighner discusses the discarding of food by college students , in my experience on the cafeteria in school you see this happen every single day. As Eighner says in the essays students during breaks, mid semesters or summer you can see a lot of good things that they trashed. In the cafeteria each day, many students grab food and throw them. They don't even eat them or touch them, if they know that they won't eat it, they still trow them. I don't think he is being too hard on students, his characterization seem accurate , you can see that every where not only at schools . Also at work areas, like any fast food area, if they messed up in an order they still trowed them away no matter what. I have experience it at work , since i work on a fast food restaurant every time we messed up on any of the food , we have to throw them,

NLC 1301: Blog 10 12/7/12 Hen Acevedo
My three main topics: 1.Why should the healthy people in the U.S should have to pay the same or equal amount for medicaid as for the people who actually need it. 2.How has technology help us with education? 3.Should students have less or more hours in school?. From the three topics , the two i know mostly about is that technology has help us to learn in different ways from learning how to get information , to communicating with other and learning from each other. Also that if we have less school hours , the students are better to develop and have more sleep at home. Also they have more family time, and more time to do their homework or any activities outside school. I know also that in the United States everyone is equal, which mean the same equal rights for anyone who is ill or not i'll , fat or skinny, etc. I would like to learn from the three topics many things. I want to learn how technology can affect us in the future or would it make it better for the new generation to learn better. What if they charge everyone depending on the disease that each have?, would it be fair both everyone?. Would having less or more school hours help the students to have a better and successful life or would it affect them?. I would like to know if medicaid rights have change ,depending which diseases can help cover and which one are not. If students in other school who have less hours of school learn more or the students who have pass more time in school. If everything the students used where in a computer and the only thing they used to make research, labs and essays would the internet be more secure or would it have the same security.

NLC 1301: Blog 9: 11/30/12 Thanks to Modern Science..(Ad)

From: H_Acevedo12@live.com
Subject: Thanks to Modern Science..(Ad)
Dear ACLU,
I find your a to be convincing, I bet not only for me ,but also for some people who will view this Ad also. I think that the corruption in the legal system is making innocent people die. Without having the rights to have a DNA test or any prove to show that they are innocent. Some live were saved by modern science, as we can see on the Ad. In the Ad, we see a man sitting a man sitting in an electric chair, we know that he's going to die,but what we don't know is if he's innocent or if he's guilty. It really emotional to some people ,because in some states they won't be able to have any testing and be safer by science from the death penalty. In the Ad it says that 17 innocent people have been removed from the death row, because of modern science, but 23 innocent were killed due to injustice with the modern politics. We can see that there are more people dying of innocence than crimes, because politics don't give them the opportunity to say anything. As the sixth Amendment said people have the right to a jury, which mean they have the rights to show that they are innocent. I want y'all to think about the cases that after the person has die , y'all found out that the person was innocent, think about giving them a new opportunity.
Sincerely,
H Acevedo.

NLC 1301: Blog 8: 11/9/12 Major League Baseball Brawl (photo)
The picture of "Major League Baseball Brawl" , may show us many type of views. Some people view it as a bunch of baseball players gather together after the game finish. When we start studying the photo we don't see only one team, we can see gray and white team shirts. Meaning that there is another team on the picture. Then you see the baseball players pushing each other. The fight happening on the picture could have many type of reasons, like attitude, calling the opposite team loser or by bumping to each other on accident. There many reason that may had made the players lose their temper. Personal problems could have been one of them, two of the team players being rivals and trying to show that they are the best is a reason to lose temper and by fighting they think they will solve everything. While the other two players are fighting the other team member are trigger to stop the fight, and other may take that offensive or make them anger that they want to fight too. Another one is after the game is finish , the opposite team , the one who lose is mad and angry that the winner team won. Starts offending each other and ends up on a fight between all the players. The situation could just end up by accepting that they won or lost and see what they would do for the next time, not by fighting. Also they could be celebrating the victory , the other team comes to congratulates the winner team. By them hugging and playing a little rough and getting physical can express the happiness of the great work of both team. It can be a negative cause where we can view it as fighting or a positive cause where we can view it as them congratulating themselves.

NLC 1301: Blog 7 : 11/2/12 "Process project"
To work on our process project was a really good way to learn a lot from my the people in my group. At the beginning i wasn't sure that we were going to learn anything from the project. Kendra and Edith decided to look for the information about the process of making Empanadas. Mohammad decided to buy all the ingredients, while i gather all the information and put it on a power point. I didn't know that the Empanadas came from Spain, i thought i was just a Salvadoran dish. During the project and the presentation i felt really nervous ,because i thought we were going to messed up and say something wrong. When Professor Yu was asking us the question we got nervous , but we felt better afterwards, because we answer all of them. In the future I would like to work with the same people, i learn what a lot from the project and i saw that many of the classmates enjoy our project.

NLC 1301: Blog 6: 10/29/12 How to Escape from a Bad Party
Many people try to escape from any situation and which may sometimes make them do anything in order to get out of it. Some cases may be difficult, as you can see, there is rarely an easy escape from a Bad Party. A difficult situation may cause you to pull out any device and fake an emergency, slip away unnoticed, slip out a window, or even make you date to leave. These are just a few of the strategies that you can do in order to escape a party.
"Fake an Emergency" (Piven et al. 291-292).
Fake an Emergency is a great way to escape, and it always works. While you're on a date, party or any situation that you know is not working or feel awkward you want to try to escape in a nice way, because if you tell them the truth about how you feel they may get hurt. Simple way is to pretend you get a phone call or a text , and try to be excuse yourself from the table. If people don’t believe you try to ask for a friend or anyone for help. Tell them to keep calling you or texting you, be excuse as many times, till you tell them that you have to leave, since is an emergency, apologize before you leave. After that the only thing you have to do is leave quickly before anyone can protest.
"Slip Away Unnoticed" (Piven et al. 292-294).
"Slip Out of the Window" (Piven et al. 294).
If you feel bad leaving without telling no one, or have no escape just try the the method of slip out the window, first you have to locate a usable window, it has to be not too high, or one that can hurt you. Attempt to open the window if you can open it, go look for some other. Find anything to break the window. Prepare to break the window if you cannot open it , or find a way to break it quietly. An easy way is to strike the center of the glass with the anything. Punch out any remaining sharps glass so you won't get hurt. Make sure you don’t make any noise, if no one hears you, quickly leave, if that doesn't work good luck, try another method.
"Get Your Date to Leave" (Piven et al. 295-296).
Escaping a Bad Party is not easy, even if you may believe that it is a fairly simple way to evade it. You may try many different strategies to try to get away, but it may be way more difficult than you had expected it for to be. It is important to know or come up with an idea in order for you to escape from the party in an efficient way. The strategies may be helpful in some ways, and keep in mind that whenever you try to escape a party, come up with an idea that you believe works best.

Slip away unnoticed is another great way to escape. Start by identifying your escape route and after that if you're with someone tell them if you can be excuse, go to the bathroom and plan what you have to do. You can alter your appearance , change your clothing, your cosmetics ,change your hairstyle or try to fake that you're sick. Your friend will notice that you may be sick. Leave when nobody is paying attention, this is the easiest way to leave a party or any other situation. When you're on a party people are having fun, so they don’t really notice what’s going on. If no one is seeing you can take your belongings and leave quickly. After you're far as possible or in another place, call your friend an apologize you can used the excuse of an emergency or simple just leave it as it is and when they ask you tell them you felt sick, had an emergency or make something up.

If the party is at your house and you want people to leave, try to say something offensive, used religion or ethnicity inappropriate comment or do something people won’t want to see. Tell your friends you have to go somewhere and that they have to leave. Fake that you're sick and that you have to go the hospital. If you're a teenager fake that your parents are coming or that the cops came and tell you that the volume is loud and that the neighbors want everyone to leave.

NLC 1301: Blog 5: 10/19/12
When
I was becoming a teenager my behavior changed, i wasn't that happy
any more. My happiness turn into anxiety and anger, i never knew
why? . The change started when i started Junior High, all my peers
wanted me to join any kind of sports soccer, basketball or football.
I always have been a sweet person, always trying to make anyone
happy. Peer pressure was making me act different , i was becoming so
other different person. My behavior changed from joyful to depressing
in only a few school years. At first I was satisfied with my
surroundings, but it all changed when my parents, especially my dad,
wanted me to keep playing more sports. . This was the start of my
depressing behavior, because I wasn't really a fan of football, I
was more of a soccer type of person. Later in 8th grade I felt
pushed around by my family because our team was going to the state
championship. This made me feel stressed, I got sick one day , due to
all the stress and everything I was feeling. The doctor told my
parents about the problems I was going through, I finally told them
what was going on. They understood me and told me that if didn't want to play football, then I shouldn't play . My attitude toward
the behavior I was giving my peers, family, and teachers changed,
when my parents understood what I was going through..
